Cunard Line is making it easier - and less expensive - to cruise through the Med this summer with one of their ships. Guests wishing to sail on the Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria or Queen Elizabeth can receive a free balcony upgrade, free gratuities and a free bottle of wine on select voyages. This sale, called the Mediterranean Spotlight Sale, is running now until June 30, 2014.

Those wanting to take advantage of this sale can choose from over 60 Mediterranean voyages on sale that visit Italy, Monaco, Spain, the South of France, the Greek Isles, Iberia and Canary Islands. The promotion includes the following: (1) sail in a Balcony Stateroom for the price of an Oceanview Stateroom; (2) free gratuities for two people; (3) and a free bottle of house wine per stateroom.

The sale only applies to new bookings and is capacity-controlled, subject to change, and may not be combined with any other public, group or past guest discount. Taxes, fees and port charges ranging from $65 to $250 per person are additional and this, also, is subject to change. Your Charlotte Cruise Ships Examiner will be happy to help arrange such a voyage, or answer any other questions on cruising. You can contact him at He can also give you sample fares for this particular offer.

Cruising the Mediterranean is quite easy from the Charlotte area. Flights of fewer than ten hours can get you to most Mediterranean ports of embarkation, using Charlotte's Douglas International Airport. Cunard also makes it easy to get you transported from the respective airports to the port for picking up your cruise.
