Melodic rockers, Land of Talk, delivered a lively set to a packed house at the Echoplex. At times their sound visits atmospheric harmonies, but it does not not build a home in them. Rather, they just touch on them before swimming away into a new turn of phrase.
Elizabth Powell is ever the tomboy in the way she plays guitar whilst jumping around aggressively. Her sweet, feminine vocals provide an interesting contrast. She's attracted attention as a contradiction in terms for much of her life it seems.
They are definitely worth a listen and can be heard at www.myspace.com/LandofTalk
