Technically, it was supposed to be an acoustic set, but by the end no one really cared as it was great music. They pulled out all their keyboards, their drummer, their bassist, and the lead singer alternated electric guitars. Relatively speaking, here acoustic just meant quieter than usual, yet greatly spirited.
Their keyboards are an integral part of their sound and they construct songs with varied textures, rhythms, and keyboard samples. Their bone-crushing drummer looks like he works part time as a bouncer.
Their lead singer displays a huge range from alto lows to soprano highs. The nearest vocals to hers would be Bjork in terms of range, but she keeps them prettier, smoother and at times ethereal. It must be something in the Nordic glacier water that affects women's vocals in such an extreme manner in terms of range.
Their act is definitely worth catching should they return. I won't lie, the lead singer's model good looks are pleasant to behold. And she made the stunning choice of a white guitar and white shirt which picked up lighting changes beautifully. The camera loves her.
They built their set slowly, crescendoing loudly in the final song. They perform all of their songs in English. Check them out at www.myspace.com/harrysgym
