Cultural fun and educational events this weekend in Bakersfield

There is always lots to do in Bakersfield and this weekend is no exception.

Experience the fun of the old west at the Whiskey Flats Days events at the Kern County Fairgrounds. If you are looking for a different kind of cultural experience in our community, try the nXcaffe CoffeeClub & ArtHouse's exhibit of Christine McBride's "Deliverance" or attend the book discussion focused on the African American experience in the military "Fighting on Two Fronts" at the Bakersfield Senior Center.

"Fighting on Two Fronts: A Salute to Military Service by African Americans" 2013 Harlem and Beyond book discussion event. The book being discussed is John Holway's "Red Tails: An Oral History of the Tuskegee Airmen". Panelists include: Mr. Rashid Frye, Mrs. Amy Green, Mr. James Hicks, Mr. Tommie McCleallan, Mr. Arthur Smith and Mr. Charles Thompson.
