Cultural (Fashion) Diversity in San Francisco

San Francisco, with its rich, cultural diversity, is a place for unique fashion finds and spottings. Throughout the course of this blog, I will be examining unique trends that trickled from across the globe to San Francisco.

To begin this theme, Emily Chui, a copywriting student in San Francisco, was spotted wearing a long, navy and white tweed-like coat from Singapore. Although Emily is originally from just outside of San Francisco, a visit to Singapore over the holiday break allowed her to do some interesting-and cheap-shopping overseas.

Although a middle-of the bargain, tweed-like coat in America would have cost around fifty to one-hundred dollars, Emily says that she only paid around twenty dollars in Singapore. The uniqueness and handmade design she found, however, is what makes this coat even more desirable. It's navy and white tweeds give it a nautical, tomboy-like feel, which were two very defining elements of last season, as well.
