"Cult" will premiere on Channel 6 in Tempe tomorrow night. On Sunday, Feb. 17, both KSiteTV and TV Guide shared the latest comments made by Matt Davis and Alona Tal for the new series. Matt Davis and Alona Tal are no strangers to CW television audiences. Davis was featured on "The Vampire Diaries" as Alaric, and Alona Tal was seen on "Supernatural" as Jo Harvelle. Davis and Tal are just of two members of the cast for this new series. The series is being teased as a series within a series. Davis' character will investigate the disappearance of his brother and its connection to a television series surrounding a cult. Tal stars in that television series, and fans will see both that television series and the present day featured on "Cult."
Davis said the following about the complicated plot, according to TV Guide:
"[Understanding the plot] was always a concern, and it definitely takes you through some twists and turns. While the pilot might be somewhat confusing, you get to a place pretty quickly where you can identify the bad guys. Once you get the concept, it takes you on path different than any other show that's been on the CW. The first six episodes [after the premiere] will begin to codify the plot, and then it spins out of control again."
Tal also talks about the complicated plot and the dual role she plays. On the inside show, she plays Kelly, who is the woman trying to take down the cult leader. On the outside show, she plays Marti, who is the actress behind Kelly. Tal said the following about the role, according to KSiteTV:
"You start the show with Mari being very wary; she’s nervous, she’s a little guarded with fans. But she doesn’t really know in the beginning, she’s not aware of the extent. So we’ll grow with that."
"Cult" is taking over the time slot CW had for "Emily Owens MD." That series was canceled by the network, but it finished out its run earlier this month. Fans are buzzing about this new series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
They killed Alaric for this just hope its good! #Cult
"Cult" will air on Channel 6 in Tempe on Tuesday nights.
