Everyone is jostling around for attention on social. Brands and people alike the differences sometimes hard to notice. The look at me effect is huge with experts, ninjas and doers abound. I think the success to any good relationship is knowing how to listen and then give more than you take.
Curate first If you want to be a trusted social source, look for what aligns with who you are and your brand interests. Like and repost content that compliments your image. Promote others more than yourself who’s content message resonates with your brand. Don’t constantly try to stick your own promos into the conversation. Timing is everything cater to what’s happening around you, and sympathize to be relevant.
Develop your own personality by being very careful by not over emphasizing or making it all about you. Find your niche audience as they’re the ones likely to be brand ambassadors and help promote you. If you can talk about your good deeds even better or share a struggle, this has a humanizing effect. People love to root for the underdog and at one point everyone has a struggle that they overcame to besuccessful.
Segment audiences not based on your product but based on people’s interests. If your brand fits with their interest then a strong relationship will form. Don’t ignore any segment just lay low with audiences who’s interests may not align with your brand directly. People love discovering and sharing new things on their own and get excited by doing so and being the first in their group to do so. Reward people who share your content the most.
Create content that’s timeless. With everything being archived your content may outlive the brand. Videos and pics are great but so are case studies. Content with a sense of humor brings more engagement. Animals especially baby animals have a great effect on people and content with animals is shared a lot. Be original but stay away from politics and religion in your messaging as you would in a conversation.
Avoid becoming a cult by diversifying and segmenting. Curate and repost as much as possible. Let your sharers know you appreciate them. Develop a story around your brand that is fun and creative. Discover new social channels as you never know which one will take off next. Most of all enjoy the conversation.
