San Francisco Bay Area residents and visitors are pleased to learn that brand new top-quality wine education classes are being held in Napa this autumn. The world-famous Culinary Institute of America has created weekend classes, "The Secrets of Napa Wine - Revealed." Judging from the response to the launch of the program, this series is destined to be a great success.
Students walk into a stunning purpose-built modern facility that reminds one more of the United Nations than a wine tasting room. The CIA Wine Studies Annex is the former Copia, the grand showplace space created through Robert Mondavi's vision for a food, wine and art center. Many are delighted to see this superb facility back in public usage after its 2008 bankruptcy filing and shuttering.
The courses are conducted by CIA teachers and master sommeliers, who happen to be exceptionally good at instruction, and are designed to appeal to wine novices and to the more experienced as well. Students can take one or more in the series, each 90-minute class priced at $40 per person, initially scheduled on selected weekends through the end of 2013.
