Culinary fun at summer camp

Cooking with young children has become a popular activity, and even toddlers are getting into the kitchen this summer at Temple Beth Schlom with their upcoming Session 3 summer camp experience for ages 15 months-4 years. "Culinary Delights" for Session will feature themed cooking activities that are developmentally appropriate for each age group.

Session 3 of summer camp at the Temple will be offered from June 30 through July 11. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with extended camp hours if childcare is needed from 2-4 p.m.

"Culinary Delights" camp activities will coordinate cooking projects with art, sports, and early literacy activities. Recipes will be child-friendly, and kitchen tools will also be child-friendly.

The preschool at Temple Beth Schlom also has incorporated a cooking club with its own Sustainable Kibbutz Garden. Children have the experience of growing vegetables and harvesting to use in cooking projects.

Add some cooking experience to your child's summer camp experience by participating in Session 3 of summer camp at the Temple. Temple Beth Schlom is located at 1050 S. Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota. The temple invites all children and families to participate in the summer camp experiences, and would like families to know that they don't have to be Jewish.
