You shop for healthy, organic whole foods for yourself, so why are you not shopping for your pet this way? A new event at Whole Foods in Lake Grove on Long Island, NY will help you do just that!
Whole Foods of Lake Grove and holistic veterinarian Dr. Michel A. Selmer of Advanced Animal Care Center of South Huntington, teamed up in June to host a pet nutrition ‘Ask the Vet’ event. The event was such a hit Whole Foods invited Dr. Selmer back to do a ‘Culinary Food Tour’ for pet parents along with their in-store culinary specialist Tricia Curran. At this event Dr. Selmer and Ms. Curran will tour store to teach pet parents what food organic ingredients they can purchase at Whole Foods in order to fill a recipe that they can then feed to their pets. Yes, for their pets. ¬
“I am delighted to be part of this culinary food tour for our pets taking place at Whole Foods, as it is very important to know what to shop for when making your pets food at home. Your pet’s nutrition is very important for our pets to live a long and healthy life and buying healthy, organic, human grade ingredients is the place to start,” said Dr. Selmer.
Dr. Selmer and Ms. Curran will answer many questions during the aisle-by-aisle tour. There will also be a specific Q & A with Dr. Selmer at the conclusion of the tour if pet parents have other general veterinary questions about their pet’s health.
Pet nutrition is a big part of Dr. Selmer’s practice as many pet owners seek out 2nd and 3rd opinions about their pet’s food due to allergies, or symptoms they may have associated with food allergies. Being the leading veterinary practice on Long Island offering alternative options for pet nutrition, Dr. Selmer believes that you should not feed your pet a mass marketed food, but rather find the right nutrition for your individual pet.
This is a free Whole Foods event and for humans only – no pets allowed! Please contact Whole Foods to register for this event at (631) 588-1466.
