Now that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have signed Albert Pujols to a $254 million deal over ten seasons, the baseball world can focus on the whereabouts of Prince Fielder, who is a free agent.
Fielder is currently being pursued by three different teams: the Chicago Cubs, the Washington Nationals, and the Toronto Blue Jays.
According to reports, Fielder is interested in the Cubs because of his fantastic career numbers in Wrigley Field and the two Chicago airports which provide easy access to his Florida home.
The Washington Nationals are also rumored to be interested but I've heard that the Nationals could be hesitant to offer a large contract to Fielder after they signed Jayson Werth to such a monster contract in the 2011 offseason. Plus they have Michael Morse at first base.
The Toronto Blue Jays are also named as a darkhorse candidate but it's rumored that they won't offer him much more than five seasons and he will want a longer deal.
Fielder, 27, has played all seven seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a three-time All-Star and has finished in the top four of the Most Valuable Player voting three times. He has 230 career home runs, 656 runs batted in, and a .282 batting average.
