American Idol's 12th season top 20 have been chosen and are moving on. It was difficult for the four judges - Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, and Randy Jackson - the last two nights making the final decision in choosing the best male and female singers.
Last night it was the males turn to shine and Lazaro Arbos although a little shaky his performance delivered without stuttering and overcoming his nerves. The 21 year old Cuban native who lives in Naples, Fla. has a speech impediment since the age of six, but it hasn't prevented his success and determination to continue with his American Idol destiny.
Lazaro sang a rendition of Keith Urban’s song "Tonight I Want to Cry." Minaj complimented his performance, "What I love about you is that you always give us Lazaro. A lot of people came and tried to switch up stuff that we love and it’s like, why take that type of risk right now?"
Mariah Carey added, "There is a purity and sincerity that comes with the emotion of your struggle and what you go through and how music brings you through that. That’s one of the things I really love about you."
Lazaro since his Chicago audition has been a true inspiration to many including those with a speech impediment. His impediment is forgotten and disappears as soon as he starts singing which amazed all the judges at his first audition.
Congratulations to all the 20 American Idol contestants - Burnell Taylor, Charlie Askew, Cortez Shaw, Curtis Finch, Jr., Devin Velez, Elijah Liu, Lazaro Arbos, Paul Jolley, Nick Boddington, Vincent Powell, Adriana Latonio, Amber Holcomb, Angela Miller, Aubrey Cleland, Breanna Steer, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Kree Harrison, Tenna Torres, and
