Last week the Puebla FC directive lost their patience with Coach Ruben Omar Romano. By midweek the camoteros had rehired Jose Luis “Chelis” Sanchez Sola after parting ways with the coach four years before. In week 7 action of the Apertura 2014 of La Liga MX, Sola sent 41 year-old Cuauhtémoc Blanco to the pitch and Puebla defeated Monarcas Morelia 3-2 at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium.

The goals came from Wilberto Cosme and Javier Acuña. But the “magic” began with Blanco’s touch. La Franja’s second goal began with a heel tap from the former Club America striker that landed in Acuna’s feet for the 2-2. Two minutes later, the former Chicago Fire striker opened the attack that resulted in the third goal on the following touch. Puebla took the 3-2 in Sanchez Sola’s debut.

Saturday’s results:

America 0, Pumas UNAM 1

Tigres UANL 0, Chiapas FC 2

Leon 1, Pachuca 2

Atlas 1, Santos 1
