CUAO TALK: Going Online

See also

We do everything online these days. We shop, we connect with family and friends, we search for jobs, chat about our favorite shows, and even diagnose ourselves, so why when it comes to the idea of meeting someone online we tense up? We think that it’s weird, it seems desperate, or even worse-what if we meet a serial killer?

I get it, I was just like that, but in a city like Los Angeles it can be difficult to meet new people, yet alone a cute guy. The days of bumping into a cutie at Trader Joe’s have long passed us, and even if you do see a certain someone, the chances of him actually approaching you are slim to none (that is if he’s cute). You may think it’s crazy to be online, but in reality it crazy not to be! Okay, so there is the chance of getting catfished, but how many times have you dated someone you met walking down Melrose and three months later found out he was a total loser?!

Online dating cuts the chit chat and the guessing game. People know you’re single and looking, in addition you can even explain your dating don’ts to block many unworthy suiters from approaching. Think of it this way, online dating combines your favorite two pastimes: online shopping and social networking. Get to it! Being in a big city like Los Angeles, need to keep your options open and get your face out there! Now you don’t have to be totally obsessed about it, just leave it up like an online resume. And yes, you’ll get a lot of messages from a few frogs, but you just may meet your prince.
