Looking for a new dance experience now that the holidays have ended and there are no more Nutcracker productions to attend? Adult dance enthusiasts of all levels are invited to participate in a Dance with Pilobolus Adult Workshop at Club Hall in Washington, Connecticut, Saturday and Sunday January 19th and 20th.
Founded in 1971, Pilobolus is a modern performance company based in Washington Depot CT. that focuses on the human body as a medium for self- expression and building community. Pilobolus Dance Theatre performs for stage, television, and online audiences all over the world.
Through the Pilobolus Institute performers and non-dancers alike can learn the Pilobolus collaborative ‘can do’ philosophy through unique educational programs that provide participants insightful growth opportunities. The workshop on the 19th and 20th is hosted by ASAP! After School Arts Program, and “will teach the group a creative process for developing movement enabling them to discover not just what they think they can do, but what they are actually capable of doing. Workshop participants leave with an improved insight into better ways of communicating internally and to the outside world,” says ASAP! Executive Director Joanne Torti.
Torti assures Pilobolus will offer an inspiring and energetic experience to those that attend. No previous dance training is necessary to participate, but come prepared to move enthusiastically. The workshop is open to everyone 18 years and older. Wear comfortable clothing, i.e. sweatpants, t-shirts, and bare feet or very lightweight running shoes.
