CSU WordSlam to be held at City Falls Coffee

The three-time-per semester event known as WordSlam is back in action at its new location at City Falls Coffee. The trendy coffee shop, located on the corner of Broadway and 12th in Uptown Columbus, is new to the area but rapidly growing in popularity among college students and older folk alike.

The WordSlam event is an bi-annual proceeding by the Creative Writing Club of Columbus State University in which three students are chosen as featured writers to read their work aloud in the areas of Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry. Wordslam is interspersed with open-mic opportunities, allowing attendees to step up and read their own works to a captive audience.

It's certainly a good way to break into the world of writing, and get to know some very cool people.

If you are in the area, or expect to be around this time each month, be sure to stop by and check out these up and coming writers, have some refreshments and great coffee, and be entertained for a couple of hours!
