'CSI: NY' season 9 spoilers: 'Homeland' villain Navid Negahban signs up

Only a matter of weeks after his feared character of Abu Nazir was killed off on the second season of Showtime's "Homeland," Navid Negahban has found a new workplace to call home; and this time around, it is a show that generates a good many more viewers (even if its ratings in the 18-49 demographic are rather similar).

According to a report from TV Guide, the actor has booked himself a guest appearance on the upcoming "CSI" / "CSI: NY" crossover as a man who knows where Mac's girlfriend, who was kidnapped at some point during the two-part episode, is located.

Thanks to the death of Nazir, Negahban's schedule has freed up to take a variety of other guest roles; and considering that his series already has one win of Outstanding Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards, the stock of him and some other characters is also certainly on the rise. Hopefully, this part will lead into some other opportunities for him in the future, including either some opportunities in film or to be able to play a character a little bit more full-time on TV.

This crossover will air during the February sweeps, and it is far from the first time that CBS has made a move of this variety in order to boost the ratings of both installments of the franchise.

Are you glad to see Navid getting some more work so soon after "Homeland"? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
