Quentin Tarrantino fans will want to check out one of the director's rare ventures into TV as he takes on the two-part CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode entitled Grave Danger.
It is a race against death as the CSIs search for Nick Stokes (George Eads), who has been kidnapped and buried alive. Can they get to him before he runs out of oxygen?
When his team receives ransom demands, they are directed to a website where they are forced to helplessly watch as Stokes desperately struggles to free himself from his underground coffin. The CSI team sets to work with a single mission in mind: to save one of its own.
"Mentally for a few days, I was in that box contemplating my death, which is something I stay away from," Eads said in an itnerview back when the episode first aired. "Quentin had me contemplating it hourly for three days. We really went down a pretty deep wormhole with the whole death thing and that was pretty strenuous after a while."
Tarrantino, who was a fan of the crime drama, brings his edgy style to the celebrated series for its two-parts season five finale, which earned him an Emmy® nomination for directing. Grave Danger was created with the same pulse-pounding style that the filmmaker is best known for.
