The “Wholly Trinity”, governance, big business and organized religion are the three big influencers of primordial, some say tribal, humans. Those three forces shaped what is called “Western Civilization” such as it is.
In the South of this nation the end result of the handy work of those three forces has given me a tagline. But, it’s given me much more than a tagline, it’s given me the purpose behind many, if not most, of my blogs.
I’m repeatedly told by friends, family and foes alike that there is no perfect place on the planet. This I know. However, I live here. It is the one place on the planet where it really matters to me how people are treated because it is within the sphere of my influence to make a difference. Others may be content to sit idly by and watch enthralled by the surreal-ness of it all, but I cannot. It’s not that I choose not, I am compelled by my upbringing and sense of fairness.
Perhaps, if those who hold the reins of power didn’t hold themselves and this nation out as some sort of beacon for the world, as more, as better--- even as all the while--- to even the casual observer and novice historian it is obvious the opposite is true, I would be doing something else. I wouldn’t be doing my very best to reveal the very parallax view version of history and reality that the puppet masters do their best to express by way of the wholly trinity.
When one-percent of the population of this nation is worth more than the bottom half of the population things are unlikely to change for the better for that bottom half.
When only three-percent of the US population makes three hundred-thousand dollars a year or better how can there be change?
The Occupy Wall Street message is real. One-percent of the US population owns, controls and compels everything.
Not to put too fine a point on it, in the news recent has been the brouhaha over CSCOPE Lessons, the underfunded, unconstitutional, apartheid public education system of Texas red (and by default the for profit prison-industrial complex) and the issue of healthcare.
Meanwhile, over the din of objections of the majority population of the state “Obamacare” is almost here. Obamacare otherwise known as the affordable (health) care act is a good thing for six million residents of Texas red who have no healthcare insurance coverage. Obamacare is good for everyone who pays taxes. Obamacare is good for the public health of this nation. It also almost lives up to the hype sold to the world about this nation.
The Single-payer method would have been a much better option. Expanding Medicare to everyone would have been the simplest, easiest and most effective way to extend healthcare to every citizen of this nation---not to mention that it would have been the right thing to do but the majority population of this state and the other states of the former slave state South weren’t about to let that happen.
Segregation in public schools is more prevalent than ever. How could it be otherwise given centuries of redlining, zoning and steering? How could it be otherwise when the funding for public schools has long been property taxes?
How could it be otherwise, when where people live, own homes and pay property taxes is compelled by city master plans and enforced by redlining, zoning and steering machinations?
How could it be otherwise when what people can afford to pay for a home is more the result of social engineering, oppression, discrimination and racism than ability?
When what are unconstitutional, racist and apartheid practices are called “conservative values” and serve as the mantra of the majority population how could our “apartheid public education” be otherwise?
Until “we the people” are able to put the needs of the all citizens of this nation and by definition the needs of the nation without regard to race above the needs of the diehards of slave-state legacy and the puppet master one-percent who manipulate them how could it be otherwise?
From Texas Red: a cratered landscape of for profit prisons, deplorable apartheid public education, lack of healthcare and politicians and majority population intent on keeping it that way…
