Tickets are $10 and, based on last year’s lines at the door for Rock the Halls, party-goers are advised to make an advance purchase from the radio stations or those sponsors marked with a star.
On March 17 Crystal River’s traditional Irish pub, Burke’s of Ireland, will be opening their doors at 7a.m. for an all day celebration starting with a green eggs and ham breakfast. For the fifth year Burke’s is supporting Citrus County Animal Shelter with the 5K Leprechaun Run at 8a.m. and a dog walking parade at 10a.m.
Festivities continue with the arrival of the Citrus County Scottish Pipe Band at 11a.m. and at noon luncheon will be served; a traditional Irish coddle and soda bread. At 3p.m. “Irish” Steve O’Wright will be performing, followed by the band Mountain Brew at 8p.m.
Burke’s neighbor, Wine Shop 3, will also be open to celebrate with the Irish family of McManis wines and an Irish stew; the recipe kindly provided by Denise Burke. Green mimosas will also be available in tribute to the day.
