The ultra-luxurious Crystal Cruise Lines have been named “World’s Best Large Ship” for the 19th year in a row by the readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine.

The magazine made the announcement this week, as part of the results of its annual poll which rates not only cruise ships but also hotels and resorts. Significantly, Crystal is the only vacation choice that has snagged the #1 spot ever since T+L’s "World's Best" awards began.

This recognition is in line with similar results of Conde Nast Traveler magazine, which has also given Crystal the #1 award for 20 years in a row in it's annual "Gold List" awards.

Crystal’s new President, Edie Rodriguez, reacted to the T+L news by saying, “It is such an honor to win this prestigious award and it is truly a testament to our shipboard and shore-side teams who consistently strive to deliver such an extraordinary Crystal vacation.”

This year, the Crystal Serenity will explore new territory as it takes a “Colonial Collection” cruise on November 5th that visits Annapolis, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and other East Coast cities.

On-board guests can book shore excursions that include the 9/11 Memorial in New York, Colonial Williamsburg, Arlington National Cemetery and Washington’s National Mall.

Crystal is known for its on-board in-depth lecture series and this Fall is no exception. On the November 5th trip, journalist and Washington insider Ken Walsh will talk about his reporting over the past three decades. Similarly, on Crystal’s seven-day Quebec City round-trip voyage, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard Myers, will lecture.

The on-board lectures are part of Crystal’s “all inclusive” fares, which include meals in the specialty dining restaurants, room service, stage shows and fine wines and spirits. Soft drinks and bottled water are also included. ###
