Good Morning America didn’t announce the American Idol concert until just recently, but on July 9th the finalists from season nine, including Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze, performed on the early morning talk show. The Idol music jam was the eighth concert in Good Morning America’s 2010 Summer Concert Series. Past performers have included the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, Sugarland, Diddy, Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan, Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige.

For the latest Good Morning America concert, Crystal Bowersox took to the stage and sang Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin. In usual top-notch form, Bowersox had the audience on its feet and cheering after the first few bars. She belted out the tune and sounded better than ever. Lee Dewyze, the winner of American Idol, also took the stage for a solo performance. He performed Treat Her Like a Lady, the song that wowed Simon Cowell and earned top marks from the other judges. Both Bowersox and Dewyze talked about their experiences on American Idol and how their lives have changed since competing on the show. They also promoted the 2010 American Idol Live! Tour. It features the top ten finalists: Lee Dewyze, Crystal Bowersox, Aaron Kelly, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Michael Lynche, Siobhan Magnus and Tim Urban. The tour is currently winding it way through the United States, and wraps up in Indianapolis on August 31st.

These two videos say it all as to why Lee won-much easier musically for a crowd to get into .Crystal's music is "pub" like and you can tell it's hard for the crowd to get into her. That being said she is a great singer-just not mass crowd appeal

I agree. Besides the fact that Lee is a good looking guy, he has a way of taking an old song and make it sound current. Crystal is talented but I feel like she's stuck in the 70's.

I agree, crystal has a beautiful voice but does not command the kind of crowd attention Lee does!!.. He is amazing live!!... I wish them both the best, as well as the other 8 idols!!..

Both these lovely people bring incredible talent to the table. Both give this middle-aged listener goosebumps every time I hear them perform. Both have amazing appeal because they convey kindness at heart and pure joy in what they do. We are so lucky! I send them both my heartfelt congratulations.

Very talented young artists. Can't wait to hear more of their own original material. Crystal's is incredible. Haven't had the privilege of hearing Lee's originals, but am sure they are equally fine. Best of luck to both of them.
