Examples of leadership excellence can be found with teachers, educators and counselors, and those are the individuals who WDAF-TV FOX 4 plans to honor with its annual FOX 4 Crystal Apple Award.
- Contest nominations are due by 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012.
The nominee's school/job site must be within a sixty mile radius of the TV station.
Nominators and nominees must reside in Kansas or Missouri. Four winning entries will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of community leaders and WDAF-TV personnel, who will review essays and answers to the questions on the nomination forms. Nominations require a 500 words or less description of:
- How the nominee goes above and beyond his/her job description to inspire students to achieve their goals.
This year's winners will receive:
- A Crystal Apple Award
- Two Southwest Airline ticket vouchers valued at $1,000
- Other gifts valued at $100 or less
Since the award's inception, FOX 4 has honored more than 100 individuals.
