Crysis 3 Announced for 2013

EA announced that the Crysis series will be continuing its visual onslaught of the First Person Shooter genre next year, with a third entry into the series. The game will continue to take place in New York, and Gamers will again step into the shoes of Prophet, fending off the Alien assault in the now overgrown city. Prophet is now also equipped with an advanced Bow and Arrow set-up that could really add some interesting gameplay elements (I loved how it was used in the latest Turok game).

But, what's interesting to me is the way they are offering the pre-orders already, and the extra content to be promised with them. It's April of 2012, and this game is set to be released at the absolute earliest of January of 2013, yet they are already promising multiple packs of "Bonus content" with the pre-orders. These include (according to Destructoid):

Stalker Pack – Includes the base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: for players who like to stalk their prey from the shadows the Stalker Pack provides early multiplayer access to the deadly semi-auto Jackal shotgun. This powerful, close-range shotgun comes with a unique silencer attachment, custom weapon skin and two exclusive themed in-game dog tags.
Overkill Pack – Includes the base game, all Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: the Overkill Pack features early multiplayer access to the Typhoon assault weapon and skin. Spewing 500 rounds a second, the Typhoon gives players the ability to go guns blazing to take back the Liberty Dome. Also included are two exclusive Overkill themed in-game dog tags.
Predator Pack – Includes the base game, all the Hunter Edition content and the following early multiplayer unlocks: the Predator Pack delivers early multiplayer access to the Feline submachine gun and exclusive camo. With an extremely fast rate of fire and a 60 round magazine the Feline is highly effective and deadly, at short range.

The hunter edition is listed on EA's site as saying:

HUNTER EDITION BONUS CONTENT:

• Become the Ultimate Hunter Online- Get early access to the new signature Crysis 3 bow, bow attachment, and "Hunter" Nanosuit module for use in Crysis 3 Multiplayer.
• Multiplayer Head Start - Get a bonus XP boost up to Level 5 and gain the ability to unlock custom loadouts early.
• Look Sharp - Customize your loadout, plus get a unique bow skin and three exclusive “Hunter” themed dog tags.

At first, I was a bit confused as to why EA would split up so many different pre-order options, but then I realized that it was to try and suit the gamers online play style. With different options, and all of them including access the bow early, EA has created an interesting way to give out in game content as a pre-order bonus, and honestly, I think it's good. Another thing to note, is that the game is at $49.99 from EA's origin service, PS3 and Xbox 360 at EA's pre-order site. If this game comes out at that price point, I would definitely be impressed with EA for realeasing a Triple-A title under the industry "Norm".

Waht are your thoughts? Does the game look interesting to you?
