Cruising on the Potomac

I have lived in the D.C. Metro area since the 1980s but have never cruised the Potomac. Have you? I've walked a long the Potomac. Driven beside the Potomac. Rowed on the Potomac. But never cruised. Time to change that!

One local cruise company offers cruises on the Potomac: Spirit Cruises.

Spirit Cruises for this summer include:

July 4th Independence Day Lunch Cruise--Guest will enjoy a buffet lunch, a narrated tour, DJ, and more. Cost: $43.90/person, $26.95/child (ages 3-12)

July 4th Independence Day Fireworks Dinner Cruise--Guests enjoy an open bar, buffet dinner, DJ, fireworks, and dancing. Cost: $169/person. Guests boards at 6:30 p.m., and cruise lasts from 7:30-11:30 p.m.

Crab Leg Feast Cruise--Saturday, August 16, 2014-Guests enjoy an All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feast. Cost: $59.90/person. Guests board at 11 a.m., and cruise lasts from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Mount Vernon Excursions--May through October 2014-- Spirit Cruises offers the only direct cruise to Mount Vernon from D.C. Cost: $45.95/adult, and $39.95/child (ages 3-12). Cruise includes round trip voyage to Mount Vernon and discounted admission to tour the estate. Guests board at 8:15 a.m.. Cruise begins at 8:30 a.m. for a 90-minute tour. Cruise departs for D.C. from Mount Vernon at 1:30 p.m., docking at 3 p.m.
