Cruise ship singer mystery: Death of singer still unknown

When looking for a vacation, people really enjoy going on a cruise ship. On Feb. 6, New York Daily News reported that a cruise ship singer's death is still a mystery.

Jackie Kastrinelis was only 24 years old and was a singer on a cruise ship. She sang on the Regent Cruise Lines' Seven Seas Voyager. When the ship docked in Darwin Harbour, Australia, they found her body in her cabin and she was dead. At first they thought it was a crime scene, but they are not treating it that way anymore.

They have now moved on to say that her cause of death is unknown. She did suffer from a small head injury the night before, but was treated by the medical team on the ship. They are no longer considering her death suspicious.

The cruise line spoke out saying: "The Regent Seven Seas Cruises' family is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Jackie," the Miami-based luxury cruise line said in a statement. "Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones."

More information on this death should come out soon, but it will take a bit for officials to do the autopsy and blood tests. Her family is going to Australia to pick up the body.
