Here's a bar and an event space for books and authors that you might not know about yet: Franklin Park, 618 St. John's Place in Brooklyn between Classon Ave. and Franklin Ave. Having grown up in Crown Heights, I can assure you there were not many bars nor places beyond the public library for author appearances way back in the previous century. But Crown Heights is undergoing a renaissance, and Franklin Park is part of it.
