Over the past twenty some odd years, Atlanta has seen many clubs open and close within a very short period of time. The Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex is African American owned and operated by entrepreneur L. C. Crowe. It has been a staple of Atlanta’s nightlife for forty years, and has occupied its current location – 5495 Old National Highway, Atlanta, GA 30349 – for nineteen.

In a review written by Eugene F. about the Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex, he commented, “…most [of] the people there are over 40, which is somewhat surprising….since Grown Folks is in the same area” (yelp.com). Well, one major reason is if you have the slightest inclination towards claustrophobia, Grown Folks is not the place for you. The Sunday night band is enjoyable, the DJ is good, the drinks are decent, but there is a limited amount of seating.

Whereas, the Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex is a spacious club; it was remodeled in December 2013 and January 2014, and now has plush, lounge seating for more intimate gatherings, or bistro tables which can accommodate any number of guests.

Just as with the remodel, some of the old, tried and true waitresses – out with the old, in with the new – have left to pursue other opportunities, so please be patient with the new wait-staff-in-training.

The Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex hours of operation are as follows: closed on Tuesday; open Monday (open mic talent show), Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (eclectic mix of R&B, old-school, reggae, and hip-hop), Saturday (old-school), and Sunday (eclectic mix of R&B, old-school, reggae, and hip-hop) from 9:00 pm – 4:00 am. Parking is free and plentiful. There is a $10.00 cover charge after 10:00 pm. The food is rather tasty and menu prices range from $7.00 - $20.00. You must be 21 years of age and up to be admitted into the club.

As highlighted above, Saturday is old-school night and Steven “DJ Plum” is on the ones and twos, and he is dedicated to keeping it one hundred percent old-school music. His one desire: to see more people out at Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex.

The Crowe’s Nest Mega-Plex does not have an operable website at this time, and there are no foreseeable plans to establish one. They offer live R&B performances sometimes on Friday, but currently there is no entertainment scheduled.
