Crowds pack 76th Golden Gloves for first two nights

The second night of the 76th annual Dallas Golden Gloves was another event-thrilled evening for the Maple Ave. Boxing Gym at the sold-out Hella Shrine Temple in Garland.

A great night of people watching was as fun as the fights themselves.

Spotted in the crowd were World Boxing Council former light heavyweight title challenger Chris Henry of Houston; WBC Special Legal Counsel Bob Lenhardt; 2012 Olympic welterweight Errol Spence and his father Errol Spence Sr; professional boxing photographer Stacey Verbeek and WBC international referee Laurence Cole were among the notables along with Dallas businessman Hunter Henry (no relation to Chris Henry).

The winners from the Maple Avenue Gym included: James Robertson, Andrew Soliz, Theodore Hollman, Rodney Birdow, Henry Johnson, and DeMarcus Outman.

Those in the defeated category include: Israel Marquez, Sung Hong, Luis Esquivel, Jae Jang, Thomas Lowe, Reginald Adams and Fernando Garcia.

More fighters have yet to fight yet according to head trainer Roger Rodas.

Night three begins Friday at 7:00 p.m.
