Crossover matches wrap up this weekend across Florida

This Saturday marks the end of crossover action across the state of Florida. There are three Division II (D-II) Florida Rugby Union (FRU) crossover matches on Saturday, along with one D-III game in southeast Florida. However, all of the college clubs across the Sunshine State are taking this Saturday off.

Hammerheads host the Krewe

The top team in the Southern Division of the FRU, the Naples Hammerheads (10-1-0), play host to the top club in the Northern Division of the FRU this Saturday, the Tampa Bay Krewe (8-2-1). This match will take place at Estero Community Park in Estero, Fla. This game kicks off at 2 p.m.

Buccaneers host the Griffins

The second place team in the FRU South, the Boca Raton Buccaneers (8-2-0), is hosting the number two team in the FRU North, the Orlando Griffins (6-4-1). The clubs will meet to play the match on the Buccaneers’ home pitch at Don Estridge Middle School in Boca Raton, Fla. Kickoff time for this match is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Tridents host the Coconuts

The third place club in the South, the Miami Tridents (4-6-0), will host the third place team in the north, the Daytona Beach Coconuts (4-7-0), this Saturday at Ben Franklin Park in Miami, Fla. This match will kick off at 2 p.m.

Pirates fighting Raptors for each club’s first win

In D-III action, the Treasure Coast Pirates (0-6-0) and the Indian River Raptors (0-5-0) will both battle each other on Saturday for their first win of the season. This match, which kicks off at 2 p.m., will take place at Jessica Clinton Park in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
