The new and now in the fitness industry is CrossFit and many people in the health and fitness industry are trying to get involved in CrossFit and play the part. What is CrossFit is a question that is asked non-stop and many people that are involved in an elite exercise program wonder if they are capable of taking on a CrossFit training programing.
CrossFit is a combination of exercises that are used in a circuit form with all forms of fitness such as stability, endurance, strength and power that will be one exercise after another combining all of these aspects at once. It is very intense and not for the beginner exerciser but for those that are looking for that edge in fitness.
Completing the exercise circuit will follow with 15-30 seconds of rest and then the cycle is repeated again. This is taking every tool of fitness and putting it to use making the athlete utilize it and show how strong and enduring they are through the CrossFit program. Simple examples of the CrossFit program would be: Step-Ups w/DB Lateral Raises, Push-Ups on Parallel DB’s for 10-12 reps and then alternate rows with DB’s, for 8-12 reps and then Jump up Squat w/ DB Shoulder Press.
As you can see, CrossFit is cross training and this was just a simple example of what happens during it and the small exercises provided, but this program is making sure that each and every muscle group utilized for performance.
