Crosby Lady Cougars shutout Porter 6-0

Crosby’s Abby Walker struck out 11 leading the Crosby Lady Cougars (13-7) to their seventh consecutive win posting a complete game 6-0 shutout over the Porter Lady Spartans on Tuesday night, March 18, 2014.
Haleigh Sweeney walked to lead of the home half of the first and scored the game’s first run on a groundout by first baseman Bailee Pharis. Walker doubled to centerfield scoring Teresa Mooneyhamm running for the Lady Cougars catcher Ariel Clogston.
Porter pitcher Chelsea Banks held Crosby at bay until the fifth. The Lady Cougars knocked Banks from the game in the fifth sending 12 batters to the plate. Three errors and a sacrifice fly led to four Crosby runs.
Walker won her seventh game of the season allowing two hits and two walks lowering her district era to .457.
Crosby hosts the undefeated Barbers Hill Lady Eagles on Friday, March 21, 2014 in a rematch of their February 18th game won 2-0 by Barbers Hill. First pitch is slated for 6:00p.m.
