Hollywood’s most glam season is very much in full swing and the most stylish celebrities, actresses, stars and models were vowing for best dressed at last nights Critics’ Choice Awards. The choice is certainly in the eye of the beholder, with that much beauty it’s hard to say who top’s the glitzy list. Let’s look at some of the most spectacular dresses seen:
Black and white was very much the order of the day on the red carpet, with Nicole Kidman arriving in a chic floor length Nina Ricci gown and dangling silver earrings and black shoes. Eva Mendes sported a more daring black lace mini dress, with an ornate bow over the shoulder.
Natalie Portman and her Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis both looked stunning, with Natalie cleverly hiding her growing baby bump in a loose fitting black and white Ferre dress with Stella McCartney shoes. Mila Kunis looked equally chic in a knee length black strapless Nina Ricci number with black heels and a long jade and silver necklace.
Also on the carpet were Colin Firth and his wife Livia Giuggioli looked happy and relaxed as they arrived at the ceremony, with Colin favorite to win the Best actor gong for his role as King George VI in The King's Speech. And it was Best Actress nominee Annette Bening's chance for the spotlight as she arrived with husband Warren Beatty with a floor length lemon dress.
British actresses Helena Bonham Carter and Tilda Swinton showed off their own unusual style on the carpet, with Helena teaming a black headpiece and glasses with her black dress, while Tilda wore a boxy black dress with large shoulder pads.
All white on the night: Michelle Williams certainly was a true belle of the Critics’ ball. The 30-year-old star put many of her contemporaries in the shade as she arrived at the Critics' Choice Awards ceremony in a stunning white beaded gown. Teaming her pretty dress with a pair of satin shoes and minimal jewelry, Michelle smiled and waved to waiting photographers before she made her way into the ceremony, held at the Hollywood Palladium.
However, the red carpet was not just about the A-Listers. Reality star Kim Kardashian arrived in a bright tangerine colored mermaid style Vera Wang dress that showed off her curves, while her sister Kourtney plumped for a short animal print dress with accompanying train. The sisters presented the gong for Best Documentary at the ceremony.
