It's "game on" for Rev. John W. Swope, SJ, president of Baltimore’s Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and his counterpart in Boston, as the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots go head-to-head for the AFC title.
I am 100% confident in Ray Lewis’ ability to lead the Ravens to victory.
Just as the two teams and schools faced off in 2012, a seafood meal is at stake. If the Ravens win on Sunday, Jeff Thielman, president of Cristo Rey Boston High School will send Fr. Swope succulent lobster tail; and if, by some very unlikely chance, the New England Patriots are victorious, Fr. Swope will send Mr. Thielman a dozen Charm City crabcakes.
Fr. Swope declares, “I am 100% confident in Ray Lewis’ ability to lead the Ravens to victory, and I am already making plans for a delicious lobster salad for lunch next week!”
You can bet Fr. Swope will be praying for a hometown victory in church this Sunday.
