Actor Thomas Gibson (50) from the hit television drama, “Criminal Minds” was arrested for a DUI according to news from TMZ on the morning of Jan. 6.
Gibson plays the serious Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner on screen, boss to special agents who investigate serial killer related crimes.

Sources close to TMZ reveal Gibson was asked to take a breathalyzer test after he was stopped for a traffic violation early Sunday morning. When he refused, he was taken into custody. Bail was set for the TV star at $15,000.
Interestingly, Gibson’s character is pretty tough on his special agents, including SSA Derick Morgan played by Shemar Moore and Analyst Penelope Garcia played by Kristen Vangsness.
Some in the media might speculate whether the pressure of staying in character, one that is such a stickler for procedures and following the letter of the law might be too much for the seasoned actor.
Updates on the story reveal Gibson was released by L.A.P.D. Sunday afternoon arrest. Details shared by RadarOnline explain the former “Dharma and Greg” actor was stopped when he ran through barricades set up for a half-marathon race called “New Year’s Race – Los Angeles at Night”.
They go on to explain his rep has not yet commented.
