"Criminal Minds" star Thomas Gibson was arrested on Jan 6, 2012 on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The "TODAY Show" reports that Gibson was arrested on a suspected DUI at approximately 1:05 a.m. by Los Angeles police when he drove through a barricade that was set up to keep cars away from a half- marathon that was taking place overnight.
Initially stopped for for trying to drive through the closed area, police smelled alcohol on Gibson's breath when he was approached for going through the barricade.
Gibson, 50, was taken into custody by police when he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
After being arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division, he was booked and released on $15,000 bail.
Thomas Gibson has a long list of credits to his name in the acting world, including Daniel Nyland on CBS's "Chicago Hope" and Greg Montgomery on "Dharma & Greg."
He is well-known for his role as Supervisory Special Agent Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner on CBS' "Criminal Minds" since 2005.
