The two-part “Criminal Minds” season finale has fans on the edge of their seats. As the final part plays out on Wednesday night, fans are reminded that there could be a red-herring in the final minutes of the show. According to TV Guide on Tuesday, executive producer Erica Messer reminded everyone that it’s possible that any of the members of the team could say goodbye forever.

The buildup on “Criminal Minds” from last week has been intense. People are tuning in with great reservation as they know the show could offer up a twist that would be tough to swallow. A beloved character could be killed or the course of their lives changed forever.

The show picks up with the BAU continues its murder investigation in Texas. Even with all the violence and clues uncover a deep web of corruption that could be the motive for the killings. Meanwhile, as one team member’s life hangs in the balance, another concerned BAU member must face a sad secret from the past. This leaves Garcia required to thrust into action to save a colleague, on the conclusion of the two-part ninth season finale.

Last week the viewers saw Agent Reid get shot in the neck. Apparently he survives the injury he sustained, but he will wake up to stare down the barrel of a gun. While some viewers might assume that the character is dead, this show isn't as easy to predict as others so be careful to assume too much.

There is already speculation on how the next season of “Criminal Minds” will offer up cases to the fans. Worried that one of the team might die, everyone is hoping that the season finale gives closure to the case and keeps the team together. As everyone knows, usually main characters are killed at the end of the season and that makes everyone nervous for Wednesday’s season finale.

“Criminal Minds” airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
