'Criminal Minds' episode 200 sneak peek: Why was JJ taken?

See also

"Criminal Minds" season 9 continues this week with "200," for which CBS released a new sneak peek on Tuesday, Feb. 4. If you've been wondering what exactly JJ (AJ Cook) was up to while she was away from the BAU, this is the episode you don't want to miss.

In this week's "Criminal Minds" episode, the BAU delves into JJ's time at the State Department to try to figure out why she and Cruz (Esai Morales) were taken, and the team uncovers a secret mission that has put her life in danger. Prentiss (Paget Brewster) returns to help, and she's not the only familiar face appearing in this episode.

The "200" sneak peek offers a look at the aftermath of finding out JJ and Cruz are missing. While Hotch (Thomas Gibson) heads over to the State Department to hopefully get some answers, Morgan (Shemar Moore), Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Blake (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) try to come up with ways to figure out what exactly JJ was doing in her time away. Strauss (Jayne Atkinson) had been pressured to push her transfer in 2010, and they need to get to the file on that assignment. The only problem is it's in a highly classified facility, but fortunately, Anderson (Brian Appel) archives those reports. It's up to the BAU to make sure the recovery is made priority.

"Criminal Minds" season 9 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS. What do you think of this episode 200 sneak peek?
