Reid: “He’s not just tracking our cases. He’s tracking everything we do.”
“Carbon Copy” is the newest episode of Criminal Minds. This article contains spoilers, so beware! To review the last case file, click here. Criminal Minds airs Wednesday nights on CBS (KHOU).
As soon as the unsub’s face is revealed to the viewers, something seems off. It’s all too easy for someone who is supposed to be the big bad that viewers have seen snippets of all season long. Therefore, it’s not a shock when Bidwell isn’t the leader but just a pawn. Now this isn’t a bad thing, the writers most likely want the viewers to start being suspicious. This episode does a great job as the first act of the replicator case. At first, the viewers believe they finally getting answers about this guy, and they sort of do. The writers do a good job of building suspense, while keeping up the creepy factor (aka the room at the end). What did you think of the episode?
Around halfway through the episode, the BAU captures Donnie Bidwell who they believe is the unsub. Yup, this means there is an interrogation scene! Rossi, Blake and JJ are the ones who take a stab at Donnie in interrogation. There’s something about a Criminal Minds interrogation scene. Even though there are short scenes with Reid and Hotch at Donnie’s house, it would have been great to see more. They could have looked more into profiling Donnie’s house, like what kind of books he reads or just the state of the house. Did you love the interrogation scene?
One of the local detectives, Rizzo, is proving to be difficult. He isn’t happy about the BAU showing up. First of all, it’s great to see more of the locals. In earlier seasons of Criminal Minds, there was a little bit more time spent on showing the variety of local cops. Now there wasn’t a lot of time spent on the locals, obviously, but still there were more scenes with the BAU interacting with the cops. It just added a little bit to the show. Now is it just the suspicious person in me, but is it hard to believe Rizzo’s attitude is just about his partner’s death. Personally, I’m thinking I’m just suspicious. What are your thoughts?
