A major alarm was sounded throughout Laughlin, NV, Saturday night about 10 p.m., when a biker on a Harley cruising down the main drag revved his engine loudly. Two motorcycle police going the other direction immediately swung U-turns and stopped him, completely blocking one lane of northbound traffic as the hordes in town for the rally choked the street.

Police, apparently fearing that the crowd, which was laughing and heckling the rider, would turn ugly and seek to free their brother, called for reinforcements. Within minutes four mounted officers arrived, followed shortly by four squad cars and the police helicopter.

The detained biker was instructed to walk heel to toe and perform other sobriety tests, which he passed easily, eliciting cheers from the crowd. At that point the mounted police started aggressively moving spectators back and ordering them to leave the scene. The crowd grew larger.

After approximately 30 minutes the biker's license was returned to him and he climbed on his bike. As he fired it up he revved the engine a bit, provoking more cheers from the crowd. He pulled away shaking a clenched fist in the air and within seconds one of the motorcycle cops pulled over another biker in the same location for reasons indiscernible to the crowd.

True story.
