Crime is still winning in Sanford, Florida

Crime in Sanford, Florida has become so commonplace that it barely makes a blip on news radar.

In January 2013, I wrote about the City of Sanford and its crime.

Crime is going up, not down, and more crimes are being committed by juveniles. A recent example is a 15 year old who robbed a pizza place at GUNPOINT.

SANFORD - A 15-year-old boy is accused of robbing a store at gunpoint on Saturday, the Sanford Police Department said. The boy was not identified because he is a juvenile. The teen is accused of going into Little Caesar's Pizza at 1834 S. Horner Blvd., about 9:30 p.m., a news release from the police department said. The boy produced a handgun and demanded money, the release said. The clerk gave the teen money. The teen ran toward a wooded area behind the business, the release said. Officers searched the area and found the juvenile, who was taken into custody without incident, the release said. The boy was charged through a juvenile petition with robbery with a dangerous weapon, the release said. He was taken to a juvenile detention facility and was placed in secured custody, the release said. He just earned his new street cred!

Pizza places are favorite targets for criminals as you can see by looking :

Some Sanford businesses don’t even bother to report crimes any longer, because they know nothing will be done. One business owner suffered arson and burglary at two of his businesses last summer. The owner
re-built adding custom bars to the doors and windows even. This past week, it was robbed again. This robbery was committed at gunpoint around 8:30AM as the stores were being opened up for the day.
Broad daylight does not deter criminals when they know nothing will happen to them.

Prostitutes and drug dealers are about the only ones being arrested and locked up. Murders and armed robberies are just more paperwork to shuffle. Chief of police, Cecil Smith for the City of Sanford was sworn in a year ago. He was vetted and recruited to make a difference in the community. He was told Sanford has a racism problem. Oddly enough, Cecil Smith is a black man, married to a white woman. His first impression of Sanford was anything but a negative one in regards to acceptance.
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were the race mongers trying to infuse racism within the community, and are still actively doing so wherever they go.

So, the big question is “What is going to be done to save Sanford and its business community?”
