According to KMOV-News, there have been [8] eight house break-ins at the Edgewater Court Apartments (formally known as Town & Four) in Creve Coeur since mid-December. This apartment complex is located near the corner of Fee Fee & Olive Street. The latest incident involved a burglar who entered their 2-story apartment townhouse through an unlocked basement door. The police believe that the point of entrance for all incidents has involved unlocked doors. Creve Coeur police have increased patrol throughout the complex, but have yet to find a suspect.
Safety First
Please do not attempt to confront a burglar as they may be armed and even if they are not, they may grab a nearby blunt object or kitchen utensils like a knife or skewer. Unless, you are attempting to defend your life or that of a loved one, please remember that stolen things can most likely be replaced but the cost of life is priceless.
I have added this profile because 2 of the victim's children are students at Parkway North. This story hits too close to home, and has affected many members of the community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family.
There was a similar incident involving a home owner and a couple of burglars, when she walked in on the robbery. This incident occured less than a couple of miles away from the apartment complex. The homeowner did not survive but the burgulars were later arrested and convicted. See story below. Most people have cell phones these days, just run to a room and close and lock the door and call the police.
