Saturday August 30th come up to the VOA park in West Chester for the Crestview 5K Run/Walk to benefit a couple of the local elementary schools. For the last two years, benefits have been donated to principals of two West Chester schools and gone directly to reading programs that were lacking in funds, and were also used to help some of the attending students in need of clothing. So, if you feel like joining the Crestview Presbyterian Church at 8:30 Saturday morning the 30th to benefit some area children, some on out and run another race!

Register online at the race website,, while pre-registration is still available through August 25 for $20. From the 26th to 28th race registration will cost $25 online. The kids’ fun run will be free for the little ones at 9:30 after everyone else is finished. Awards will also be passed out to the top two finishers in each age group after the race, as well as the top overall male and female walkers.

Crestview is partnered with the Step Forward Program for men and women in City Gospel Mission recovery programs who train for Flying Pig Marathon weekend races. If they meet their goal that weekend they will be welcome to complimentary participate in the following Crestview 5K race. Through this partnership you are welcome to sponsor a Step Forward participant through your online registration by marking the sponsor box, and it will be an additional $20 for that participant and it will help boost their training.

If you would like to enter the race, early packet pickup will be August 29 at Mojo Running, 8777 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, OH, from 12:00 to 5:30pm. For those who chose to pick up packets early there will also be shoe discounts at Mojo Running!

This sounds like it will be a fun and beneficial event for the community, so best of luck to all of you who plan to head out there!
