Cressida Bonas may have left life with Prince Harry behind but the 25-year-old has stepped up her career as an actress. The beautiful Brit's newest project is a movie called "Tulip Fever" and co-stars Dame Judi Dench and Matthew Morrison. According to People magazine on June 6, other actors awarded parts in the highly anticipated film are Cara Delevingne, Christoph Waltz, Zach Galifianakis and Alicia Vikander.
The Weinstein Company production of "Tulip Fever" is based on a 1999 best selling novel by Deborah Moggach that is set in 17th-century Amsterdam. The upcoming flick, to hit theaters in 2015, centers around a married woman and her illicit affair with a drunken artist who wad been commissioned to paint her portrait. The Hollywood Reporter says that the story has the star-crossed lovers investing in the risky market of selling tulip bulbs so that the two can afford to run away together.
"Tulip Fever" is Cressida Bonas' first feature film. She plays a merchant's wife named Mrs. Steen in the movie based on a screenplay by Tom Stoppard of "Shakespeare in Love" fame.
That said, this is not the first performance to be given by the so-called socialite and ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry. Among other roles, this alleged descendent of King Charles II played Desdemona in "Othello" while she was attending Leeds University. The production was mounted once again for the famed Edinburgh Festival.
And so, as Cressida Bonas' snags her very first movie role, this blonde Brit is lucky to have been cast in a film the includes so many celebrated thespians, Dame Judi Dench and Matthew Morrison among them.
