Creger wins another Pitcher of Week honors

For the third time in four weeks, Tulsa’s Aimee Creger has been named Pitcher of the Week by Conference USA.

Creger, a senior from Yukon, Okla., received the honors after tossing a no-hitter while forcing 17 strikeouts in the 21st-ranked Golden Hurricane’s 3-0 win over Creighton Friday at the Collins Family Softball Complex. She shares this week’s award with Leigh Streetman of UAB.

It also marks the 11th time in Creger’s career she was recognized for a weekly award and the fifth time she had a no-hitter. It set the stage for TU pitchers to have shutouts in 18 innings for the weekend, as the team would go on to beat Creighton again 8-0 on Friday and Northwestern State 9-0 on Saturday.

Creger’s 17 strikeouts also set a another new school single game record, surpassing the previous mark of 16 by Julie Fennel against UTEP on April 30, 2005.

Oklahoma State game post-poned

Due to the snowy weather that has blanketed the state this past weekend, Tulsa’s game at Oklahoma State on Wednesday has been post-poned to April 23.
