Setting a school record can pay off. It did for Aimee Creger after her performance on the mound for TU this past weekend.

The senior from Yukon was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week Monday after her performance in the FAU Kickoff Classic. She got into the Tulsa record books with her 26th career shutout in the Golden Hurricane’s 3-0 win over No. 18 Louisville Saturday in the FAU Kickoff Classic.

Creger (1-0) threw a two-hitter in seven innings with eight strikeouts for her first shutout of the season. She set the school record for career shutouts, surpassing Jenny Magill, who had 25 shutouts from 1999 through 2002.

For the weekend, she compiled a 0.00 ERA , threw 14 strikeouts, and allowed just four hits and a .093 opponent batting average. That included seven innings of shutting out Ohio State, before being relieved in the eighth.
