Aimee Creger helped get Tulsa’s season off to a good start this past weekend in getting a pair of wins on the mound. Her efforts led her to being recognized as Conference USA Pitcher of the Week.
The league announced the Yukon (Okla.) junior as the winner of the weekly honor on Monday.
It is the Creger’s fifth C-USA weekly pitcher award of her career.
Creger compiled a 1.00 ERA and a 2-0 record in two complete games, leading Tulsa to wins over North Carolina and Purdue. She allowed just one run, struck out seven batters, and scattered five hits with just one walk in TU’s 3-1 win over the Tar Heels Friday, then struck out nine batters, giving up four hits and three walks in a 4-1 win against Purdue in Saturday.
Both games were part of the LSU Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, La.
Prior to the wins with Creger on the mound, Tulsa beat Hampton 3-0 in its first game of the season on Friday, but was dealt losses to LSU on Saturday and Purdue on Sunday.
TU will be in Tallahassee, Fla. this weekend, competing in the Florida State Unconquered Invitational.
