CreativeLIVE launches always-on education network ~ 24/7 learning has arrived

CreativeLIVE is the world’s leading live education platform. This week the education company announced its launch of the first 24/7 broadcast network. The announcement introduces the start of the first ever education network to broadcast around the clock, essentially transforming online education availability.

While each creativeLIVE broadcast technically is a massive open online course, generally referred to as MOOC, it differs in its approach to online education. Instead of taking a course for potential college credit, following an in-class course via streaming, or studying online to receive a certificate upon completion, creativeLIVE takes a different approach. The live broadcasts focus on the continuing education market and people’s creative passions, making online learning free, accessible, and exciting to use to learn real, practical skills.

The new availability furthers San Francisco and Seattle based creativeLIVE’s mission to make education accessible to all, as it breaks down traditional barriers such as time, geography, and money. CreativeLIVE emphasizes that we are in a time when our economy requires people to develop and build or strengthen their professional skills on an ongoing basis. Globally, people are now empowered to tune in at any time, and simply go to the channel of their choice to learn something geared toward their creative passions. The 5 new channels are: Photo & Video, Art & Design, Music & Audio, Maker & Craft, and Business & Money.

Mika Salmi, CEO of creativeLIVE said, “Today marks a new chapter in the continued disruption of education and another milestone in providing free access to the best creative education.” Salmi continued, “By launching our 24/7 network we’ve dramatically expanded the availability of free classes for our community. Now there is literally always a world-class expert teaching real skills on every creativeLIVE channel.”

“Prior to creativeLIVE, skill-based education had been behind a paywall," said co-founder Chase Jarvis. “We smashed that notion when we launched in 2010. Today’s 24/7 announcement is an extension of this vision and a direct response to the huge demand for high quality, engaging education that is always available, regardless of age, socio-economic status, where you live or where you are in your own learning progression.”

Users can tune into live no-cost classes, with the option to purchase the recorded version to own. Below are some examples of free courses along with expert instructors that will be featured on the five 24/7, always-on channels.
