Although creative writing often possesses a negative or less than valuable connotation as a major, the ability to articulate thoughts in a structurally written manner is an extremely attractive characteristic to many employers. It illustrates an ability to successfully and efficiently convey analysis, critiques, and solutions to problems. If writing is an arduous and daunting process, considering a course or two at a local community college is a viable solution.

Their Creative Writing Program offers an in-depth analysis of several literary genres including creative non-fiction, poetry, and short-fiction. It also provides ample opportunities to improve your writing skills by examining the great works of many other authors, allowing you to adopt certain techniques and advice. Additionally, all current and/or prospective Cal State and UC students will be greatly rewarded because each course carries transferrable credits!
