The weather is mildly beautiful and the weekend is going to be just right for creativity. There is plenty to do out and about the town. For starters it is Friday and the first of a New Year, 2012, that means festivities starting around 5:pm for the monthly First Friday Downtown Las Vegas arts festival. It happens every month. This one being the first of the year and having such beautiful weather should prove to be everything creative.
Friday join the Handmade in Vegas Team tonight. They will be out there visiting and vending many very special handcrafted goodies. Check out "The Lot" located at 201 E.Charleston. Meet with wonderful local artists. Learn more about what they do and how they do it. Go to the Arts Factory too. There will be many more local artists enchanted with your visit there.
Saturday find a place called Sweet Beads. Not only can you shop a wide selection of freshly stocked beads and jewelry supplies there will be an afternoon class if you are interested. Beginning Kumihimo instruction from 2:pm - 4:pm. What is Kumihimo? Ancient craft application gone beading is what you will find. For more information about Sweet Beads, Shae Wilhite has beads going on and she can show you all the wonderful things you can make with her venue.
Sunday head out to Dinosaurs and Roses for the monthly Second Sunday event. Join them for the Second Sunday Art Festival January 8th from 10:am - 5:pm. Buy a piece of artwork and get 10% off your purchase in their thrift store during the event. Dinosaurs and Roses is a Non-Profit Supporter of Las Vegas' Charities. 2 floors of Activity, starting with the bottom floor that houses the re-sale area. Upstairs you will find over 40 artist spaces ! Art of all varieties and styles, local and national artist'.
